Library Card
Borrowers must have a valid patron card in order to check out materials from the Whittemore Public Library. Anyone three years of age or older may apply for a library card, which is valid for up to three years. Three years from the date of issuance the card must be renewed in order to remain active. To obtain a library card, a valid photo ID and proof of address are required. A post office box will not be acceptable as a current address, but may be used for mailing purposes.
Acceptable forms of identification include:
- Valid driver's license
- State-issued photo ID
- School ID
- Passport
Acceptable proofs of address include:
- Valid driver's license showing current address
- Utility bill for residence dated within the last 30 days
- Mail received at current address, postmarked within last 30 days
- Current rental agreement
- Car registration showing current address
Patrons under the age of 14 must have a parent or guardian present in order to apply for a card.
Applicants are responsible for all fees and fines associated with materials checked out on their card including lost, stolen, damaged, or overdue materials. Parents or guardians assume responsibility for items on their minor child's account. Patrons must be present in the library in order to apply for a library card. Exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of the library Director.
